Waymo, Google’s autonomous vehicle affiliate, published on Thursday an extensive report about its AV technology, which revealed the company’s validation process for its technologies, as well as a detailed look at the various hardware and software that makes its cars self-driving.


Waymo’s transparent practices are unorthodox in the highly competitive industry of AV technology. Only time will tell whether this move costs Waymo some sort of competitive advantage in the market place.
