In our latest Employee Spotlight, we sat down with Jose Cruz, a member of our Programming team, to hear about his journey with AER, what makes our culture special, and why he’s excited about what’s ahead.
Getting to Know Jose
Jose first walked through AER’s doors about two and a half years ago as a temporary employee in our Login department. It didn’t take long for him to find his footing — he was soon brought on full-time with the Programming team, where he now spends most of his days programming clusters and lending a hand on the production lines when needed.
Before joining AER, Jose worked in data entry and customer service. When he’s not at work, you’ll likely find him playing video games, catching a concert, or watching rally racing — a sport he’s genuinely passionate about.
A Great First Impression
Ask Jose about his earliest memories at AER, and he’ll tell you about his first tour with HR.
“I was fascinated with the production line,” he recalls. “I also liked the small company vibe — everyone seemed like a family.”
That warm welcome carried into his day-to-day work, too. “The Programming team has been great,” Jose says. “Marvin and the rest of the team are always very friendly and helpful.” It’s a sentiment we hear often around here — the kind of environment where new teammates feel supported from day one.
The AER Vibe
How would Jose describe AER to a friend? In a word: relaxed.
“Everyone gets in and gets the work done with no fuss,” he says.
But what Jose appreciates most isn’t just the easygoing atmosphere — it’s the camaraderie. “Everyone here is a team player and always willing to help as needed,” he shares. That spirit of collaboration is something we’re proud of at AER, and it’s exactly what we hope every teammate experiences.
Looking Ahead
Jose’s story is a great example of the kind of growth we love to see at AER. He started as a temporary hire and has built a meaningful career here — and he’s not done yet. When asked about what excites him most about the road ahead, he shared that he’d like to keep advancing and potentially move into other roles within the company.
His advice for anyone considering a career at AER?
“Go for it! It might be a small company, but there’s plenty of opportunities here.”
