# Benefits of a Customized Remanufacturing Program for OEM

OEM organizations often play a passive role in managing their own remanufacturing programs. Unfortunately, many repair centers leverage their positions within the OEM’s supply chain to engage in production, inventory management, and repair processes that aim primarily to satisfy their own needs, rather than the needs of OEMs and their end users. As a result, OEMs are losing their voice when working with repair centers. This loss of autonomy can often result in misunderstandings and a lack of communication that lead to rising rework costs that impact an OEMs bottom line.
#### **Standardized Processes Fail to Serve OEM Businesses**
Most repair centers attempt to use standardized procedures to meet diverse demands, but such a cookie cutter approach is not the best way to serve distinct OEM customers. Each OEM has its own operating processes based on, amongst other variables, the kinds of industries and end users it serves, its mission, and its values.
